Although a leak is very rare, we are pleased to be able to offer you low-cost protection against this potentially expensive problem: the PROGUARD Tank Replacement/Cleanup Program. ProGuard is coverage for an oil tank that protects you against problems associated with a release. Protection is for one year and will renew automatically, subject to terms and conditions detailed on your ProGuard Certificate. ProGuard protection includes: Up to $100,000 for cleanup costs resulting from a tank release, with only a $1,000 deductible for underground tanks and a $500 deductible for aboveground tanks. Up to $1,400 to repair or replace your oil tank with an aboveground tank. Up to $2,000 to repair or replace your oil tank with an underground tank. The ability to transfer the agreement to anyone buying your home, so they can feel secure as well. ProGuard protection assures that remediation will be handled in a way that protects the environment - with the least disruption to your home and family. If you are a John Duffy residential automatic delivery Oilheat customer with an active oil tank holding no more than 4,000 gallons, you are eligible for ProGuard coverage. Abandoned tanks, inactive tanks and tanks with pre-existing leaking conditions are not eligible. In most cases, a tank test is required to be eligible.
